Asking The Angels To Help Me Find My Direction

2016 Sagittarius Lunation Cycle
November 29 – December 28

November 29
New phase

My intention for this cycle is to consider the direction I want to take in 2017, while making cards to send to friends and family.

My thoughts upon seeing this photograph by Carol St James ©2016:

“Some see life through rose colored glasses, I see life through stained glass windows.”

December 3 – 6
Cresent phase

The angels spoke to me this year, there are four of them on my altar to support my quest, along with a large piece of rose quartz, a string of Turquoise prayer beads, a compass, and a candle. Auntie Moon has an excellent post about Creating Altars and Shrines.

My word for this cycle is Perspective.

I wrote to my friend, Anna, that I recently learned how important it is for me to have a contemplative practice as a part of my routine and at the same time, I am challenged to sustain it. I need a regimen that  allows for change periodically to keep the practice fresh and me evolving. I need to apply new approaches, new mediums, new sources of inspiration, and new teachers to stimulate my dedication to my practice and keep it going year after year.

I signed up for Hali Karla’s year-long art journaling course, Art In The Stars. It begins next year at the end of January. It will give me a new view of my astrology chart and keep me focused on a contemplative practice that involves art.  I did something similar 10 years ago when Michele Grace Lessirard, facilitated a course called New Moon SoulCollage® Cards. I created digital collage images of my natal chart though the lens of the New Moon each month. About five years ago, author, poet, and fellow astrologer, Joyce Mason, invited me to write a guest post about the process called SoulCollage® Your Natal Chart, on her blog. They would look different if I did them now, if for no other reason than I’ve changed house systems.

I chose this Double Rainbow to be my Facebook cover image for this cycle. It fits with the rainbow in the Temperance card.

The six word story I wrote last July comes to mind:

The world of rainbows beckons me.

December 6 – 10
First Quarter phase

Began work on an image for the card. Making a composite of  several detail photos of the piece. Began assembling mailing list and ordered materials needed, such as blank cards, stamps, printer ink.

December 10 – 13
Gibbous phase

Intention for cycle refined:

#1 To focus on possible directions I might take in 2017. Thinking of it as the 2nd year in my current cycle – consider what 2017 wants from me, by looking ahead to 2024 and working backwards.
#2 Share my love and gratitude with my loved ones by making and send my cards – A Prayer for You & a Prayer for the Universe.

Finished making the image for the cards.  I plan on embellishing each card individually. Working to get them mailed before the Last Quarter phase is over.
