Returning to Center
There was no entry for the Last Quarter phase of the Gemini lunation cycle. I was enjoying a ‘stay-cation’ while my sister-in-law visited. She arrived on her birthday, June 27 and left today, July 3.
We ate out a few times, made 2 trips to the Honolulu Museum of Art and spent the rest of our time at home, playing with a variety of artist mediums. Not actually creating anything, just experimenting with each one to see how they performed.
All in all it made for a relaxing visit, giving us plenty of time to talk.
Throughout her visit, I continued making my words for the day. Some were dashed off late at night and others were embellished with various mediums.
Today’s word, REST, was probably influenced by the end of her visit and my awareness of the Balsamic phase, a time when my mantra is “Rest, Relax, Renew”.
Being in a hurry, I failed to measure properly and was unhappy with the wide spacing between the e and the s. It bothered me that the word appeared unbalanced.
Then it occurred to me that this is the time in the cycle to return to Center, to re-balance and re-set.
The word-card itself remains as it was first drawn, but with a little help from Photoshop, I added a dash and another e to make the image read ‘Re-set’ as seen at the top of this post. An unexpected example of re-visioning a word, or a concept, or a story, to make it better, and a very pleasant way end to the Gemini lunation cycle.
