Chart for Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 1° Aquarius/Leo

The Full Moon on January 20 is receiving a lot of attention because it is also a Total Lunar Eclipse. The blocking of the Moon’s reflection of the Sun’s light by the Earth suggests that our material viewpoint stands in the way of our “seeing the light”. It serves as a reminder of how we are held in the dark by virtue of our perspective and calls us to wake up to the need for change. You can see a map of visibility here.

The chart points to an especially imaginative and productive Full phase, as long as you are able to reign in your expectations. The need to move forward on projects begun late last March or early April meets resistance; pushing through revitalizes efforts to succeed. The opportunity to build something sustainable depends on the ability to find a creative method for expressing your goals. The key lies in your capacity to take responsibility for your actions.

Interactions with groups or organizations who share common interests, will expand your self-awareness during these few days. Listen closely to both sides of all your conversations. Notice whether your conversations are focused on the past  or on what lies ahead.

Use this Lunar eclipse as a channel for release. Invoke the determination and humanitarian instinct inherent in the sign of Aquarius to release energy-depleting behaviors. Let go of the ego’s need to be unique and let your idealism reinvent the future.
