Here’s the chart for the Sagittarius New Moon:
New Moon in Sagittarius
December 6, 2018
Sabian Symbol for 16º Sagittarius:
“Sea Gulls Fly Around A Ship In Expectation Of Food.” This degree symbolizes a form of socially conditioned dependence, where natural instincts are subverted as a result of the collective’s unconscious behaviors. — from An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformation and Its 360 Symbolic Phases © 1973 Dane Rudhyar
Sagittarius Lunation Cycle, December 6, 2018 – January 5/6, 2019:
The Sagittarius lunation begins a 29.6-day cycle focusing on the issues involving international commerce, foreigners, foreign affairs, courts of law, judges, attorneys, publishing, advertising, propaganda, literature, universities, and higher education.
During this cycle you are given the opportunity to seek your truth, to get in touch with your aspirations, to live up to your potential. Apply the knowledge gained from the last cycle to seek a better understanding of yourself. There is always more to know. Explore your self-identity, self-expression, and your current state of self-realization. Use this cycle to explore possibilities by looking at the world from different perspectives.
Sagittarius correlates to Strength on the Medicine Wheel. Strength is the ability to firmly maintain a position. Think back to the Full Moon in Gemini (November 22 – 25) for clues to what may unfold this cycle. How does your experience then relate to now? Check your calendar: who or what were you engaged with? Any issues that came up during that time may come up again with an appropriate resolution.
This Sagittarius lunation cycle begins with an emphasis on commerce, communication, and connections as Mercury stations direct just hours before the New Moon. The imprint of the New Moon fuels intentions with imagination and passion. It is an excellent cycle to invoke your artistry to convey your feelings about matters in need of healing. Unexpected conditions qualify your ability to share information. Some topics flow easily, other require a work-around.
There is a lot of energy this cycle aimed at achievement of dreams. The passion and persistence available to you now are best expressed through compassionate action or your personal creative expression.
The challenge is to handle frustration and impatience in ways that do not impair your health or risk your well-being. Escape into art or water rather than intoxicants, such as alcohol, drugs, food, sex, and shopping. Burn excess energy with vigorous exercise. Firing up your body will spark your motivation to act. Build your strength by exercising your thigh muscles, eating a diet to support your liver function, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
You are invited to explore one of the questions below for personal insight:
- What are your long-range plans?
- Who or what has influenced your belief system, inspired you, or mentored you?
- How do you motivate and inspire others?
- When do you feel most adventurous?
- What does self-realization mean to you?
- What subject would you choose to study or what country would you visit if there were no obstacles?
- Where and with whom would life be easier if you were a little less self-righteous or a little more restrained?
Make lists of the people who nourished and supported you during the last year, during your adulthood, and during your childhood. What specific aspect of each of them are you most grateful for?
There is a major shift of energy December 21/22, 2018, when the Sun enters the zodiac sign Capricorn marking the seasonal solstice, followed by the Full phase less than 24 hours later (Moon at 0° Cancer 49″, Sun at 0° Capricorn 49″), which will provide the awareness necessary to determine what you will be addressing during the next lunation cycle beginning on January 5, 2019 at 9:28 pm EST with the New Moon & Solar Eclipse at 15° Capricorn 25″.
