Highlights of the New Moon at 23º Aquarius 17′:

An air sign with an emphasis on abstract thought and idealism, Aquarius is ruled by the planets Saturn and Uranus. Practicality, the ability to focus, futuristic thinking, and dedication to humanity are qualities that become highlighted during this cycle. Add four more planets to the sign and you have a full house of weird. Expect the unexpected.

There is an open door to favorable exploration (Venus conjunct Jupiter). This could be a wish-upon-a-star cycle, if you are ready to make a clear commitment and can resist the urge for immediate gratification.

The caution, especially with Mercury retrograde in Aquarius, is to take it slow. Revisit innovative ideas, abstract ideals, and traditional concepts to see if they have value before rushing ahead. Finding humor in the oddity of the situation will help alleviate the stress (Saturn square Uranus). Observe, analyze, act. All actions have consequences.

Advice for this cycle:

This is an excellent cycle for experimentation. Embrace every moment as an opportunity for discovery.

Heal old relationship wounds by opening to trust and intimacy. Have the courage to see the beauty in human weakness, including your own, and witness the creativity found in forgiveness and compassionate action.

The cleansing process of the last cycle has opened the space for reinventing dreams. Aquarius correlates to Renewal on the Medicine Wheel. Continue the process of bringing the annual cycle to completion while re-imagining the future.

Get in touch with your wishes. Reawaken your hope and find inspiration by releasing the fear of being different and embracing your uniqueness. Trust that what makes you different is in service to your purpose.

Explore these questions for additional insight:

  • How can you serve mankind?
  • When do you feel most rebellious and why?
  • What triggers your idealism?
  • How do you express your individuality?
  • Where and with whom would life be easier if you were a little less detached or a little more progressive?
  • What organizations are you affiliated with and what is your role within them?
  • Examine your friendships and social connections. Are they nurturing and supportive or draining and subversive?

Affirm: My genius lies in renewal.
