Here’s the chart for the Virgo New Moon:

New Moon in Virgo
September 9, 2018

Sabian Symbol for 18º Virgo:

“A Ouija Board.”  This degree symbolizes the ability to contact deeper recesses of the unconscious psyche; a state of transition that requires opening to the unknown. The result can be access to inner guidance or glamorization of the ego. — from An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformation and Its 360 Symbolic Phases © 1973 Dane Rudhyar

Virgo Lunation Cycle,  September 9 – October 8, 2018:

The zodiac sign of Virgo is a feminine sign associated with loving and humble service. Introspection and analysis are key to moving forward during this opportune yet confusing period. This cycle is about revising the intentions you held last Spring (the end of March) to be more aligned with your purpose. Your dedication to being useful will support your success.

The body-mind connection is highlighted during the Virgo lunation cycle. Use this month to examine your daily routines, diet, habits, and hygiene for areas that are in need of improvement and initiate the necessary changes. The Full Moon phase two weeks ago (August 26 – 29) likely brought attention to the areas most in need of improvement. Pay attention to signals from your body that it needs care. If you find yourself physically fatigued, emotionally overwrought, or mentally tense, take a few minutes to sit still, breathe, and center.

Awareness of unconscious motivators will expand your personal power to improve life’s conditions. The major challenge this cycle is the resistance to initiate required changes. The hardships imagined are illusions. Freedom and fresh starts are the companions of change. A minor change can have far-reaching effects.

The simple rituals of daily life provide the grounding necessary for balance. Good health, altruistic service, and productive employment are the components of a prosperous life.

Virgo is the path of Love. Unconditional love, a passionate devotion and deep affection without stipulations, constraints or attachments. This is where we develop our capacity for compassion for ourselves and others.

Questions you might explore for personal insight include:

  • What situations do you find most difficult to digest?
  • Is there an area of your life where you are prone to ‘analysis paralysis’?
  • When and with whom are you most trusting?
  • Where and with whom would life be easier if you were less critical and more humble?
  • How do you express your love?
  • What are your daily rituals or habits?
  • When are you most disciplined?
  • How do you give service to others?
  • When do you feel most relaxed and worry-free?

The energy shifts when Mercury and the Sun enter the zodiac sign Libra on September 21st and 22nd, respectively. The Full phase, September 25 – 28 (Moon at 2° Aries 00″, Sun at 2° Libra 00″), will provide the awareness necessary to determine what you will be addressing during the next lunation cycle beginning on October  8 with the New Moon at 15° Libra 48″.
