Scorpio Lunation Cycle,  November 7 – December 6, 2018:

This New Moon in Scorpio falls on the cross-quarter, the point mid-way between fall and winter in the northern hemisphere’s annual seasonal cycle, which also marks the Disseminating phase of a monthly cycle and the nighttime hours of the circadian or daily cycle; with it comes the need to rest and turn within.

The Scorpio lunation begins a 29.6-day cycle focusing on the issues of power, trust, and intimacy. During this cycle you can connect to a deeper aspect of yourself, one usually kept private. The physical reality that we are conscious of is only the proverbial tip of the iceberg. And what we do perceive is often clouded by preconception and expectation. The truth of who and what we really are is so much more than what we think we know.

Sexual issues and attitudes about death and dying are also highlighted during the Scorpio lunation cycle. This is a time to look at your compulsions and obsessions and where you feel either in or out of control. To what extent do you use your power and to what end? This is a time when perceived liabilities can become assets (and vice versa). Think back to the Full Moon in Taurus (October 24 – 27) for clues to what may unfold this cycle. How does your experience then relate to now? Check your calendar: who or what were you engaged with? Expect any drama involving shared resources at that time to come up again.

Strong emotions can emphasize feelings of insecurity or feelings of well-being.  The best way to navigate these particularly tense times is to focus on being centered within. Immerse yourself in the imaginative arts as you explore your emotional depths for the treasures that are yours to discover and share with the world. Keep a meditative journal, record your self-exploration.

Questions you might explore for personal insight include:

  • What is it you would most like to see changed?
  • What waste can you eliminate?
  • When do you feel most fearful?
  • How comfortable are you with your sexuality?
  • Where and with whom would life be easier if you were to form more intimate connections?
  • Do you think you are being manipulating or manipulated and how does that make you feel?
  • What action can you take to step into your power?
  • What feelings have become toxic and in need of release?

There is a major shift of energy one week into the cycle when Mars enters Pisces on November 15, and a day later Venus stations direct and Mercury begins its retrograde cycle in Sagittarius.  The energy shifts again when the Sun enters the zodiac sign Sagittarius, November 21. The Full phase, November 22– 26 (Moon at 0° Gemini 52″, Sun at0° Sagittarius 52″), will provide the awareness necessary to determine what you will be addressing during the next lunation cycle beginning on December 7 at 2:20 am EST with the New Moon at 15° Sagittarius 07″.

Affirmation for this cycle:

I Am transformed by Love.
