Gemini Lunation Cycle, June 13 – July 11, 2018:
Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac. During the Gemini 29.6-day lunation cycle, enlightenment via information, education, and connection with others is highlighted. This is the cycle for developing your mental processes. Gather information and make well-thought-out decisions. Send messages, place phone calls, and build connections within your community. We recommend dedicating this cycle to exploring and enhancing your use of language. Focus on using your creativity and imagination to develop your communication skills. Exchange information and ideas. Communicate who you are and what you love. Listen and learn. Start a journal. Take a creative writing class. Speak with sensitivity. Tell a story. Write poetry. Sing love songs.
Disturbing, perhaps shocking, information stirs the emotions as the cycle begins, stimulating the desire to name and resolve past wounds by sharing personal experiences. The four tightest aspects in the chart for the New Moon at 22º Gemini 44′ are the Sun and Moon septile Uranus, ses-square Mars; Mercury bi-quintile Mars, square Chiron. Together they work to support creative activity. Aside from Chiron, fire is lacking in this chart. The month is all about the elements of Air and Water. Intellect and emotion. This is an excellent cycle to explore, identify, and express painful feelings long buried. Surprise yourself with the artistry of your words.
Meditate on the phrase “I Think”. Observe how you communicate, how you make connections (mentally and physically), your ability to acquire and interpret information, and how you deal with the integration of opposites, dualities and multiplicities.
Visit a library, a bookstore, a transportation hub or museum. Notice the way people, places and things are connected. Look for new or alternative routes during this cycle. Relieve tension with hand and shoulder massages, scents like lavender and basil are good for calming and refreshing the mind. Reduce stress with breathing exercises or by spending time in meditation or by writing in your journal or by whatever means you use to clear your mind. The Gemini cycle teaches flexibility in addition to sociability.
The last Full Moon phase (May 29 – June 1) brought an awareness of your needs for communication and the importance of speaking your truth. The best use of your energy this cycle is to consider your experiences since the beginning of spring and turn them over to your higher mind to determine how to adapt to changing circumstances.
Questions to ask yourself for additional insight:
- How are your thoughts contributing to your personal development?
- What triggers your curiosity?
- When and with whom are you most verbal?
- Are there words or phrases you use repeatedly?
- How are your relationships with siblings and/or neighbors?
- How might you communicate with greater clarity?
- What situations bring out the student, teacher or debater in you?
- Do you speak your truth?
There is a big shift of energy during last half of this cycle as Mars goes retrograde and the Full Moon conjuncts Saturn. The Full phase, June 27 – July 1, will provide the awareness necessary to determine what you will be addressing during the next lunation cycle that begins on July 12 with the Cancer New Moon, a partial Solar Eclipse.
Affirmation for this cycle:
I rejoice in this time of brilliant illumination.
Quote for this cycle:
“The creative genius may be at once naive and knowledgeable, being at home equally with primitive symbolism and rigorous logic.”
~ Frank X. Barron (1922 – 2002) American psychologist and philosopher.
